When you're going car camping, or having to sit at your kid's soccer tournament for an entire weekend, you want a camping chair that you can really live with. I don't think there is any question that this chair is going to be one of the most rugged chairs on the market, it's heavy because it's made well. When I'm backpacking and hiking, I go for what's light, flexible, and meets my needs for the activity. For this camping chair, I go the opposite direction as comfort and durability are more prized than weight physical size.
