Therm-a-Rest air Head Pillow

One of the main accessories that I haven't talked about much, or at all I suppose, are camping pillows. I don't know anyone that doesn't sleep without a pillow at home so I have no idea why people when they camp use wadded up shirts, or towels, or backpacks. I know, pillows take of space so for backpacking it gets a little more dicey. Most folks that use camping cots, however, are doing some version of car camping (camping near your vehicle) so that weight and bulk of camping supplies is less of big deal.

So what is so special about the Therm-a-Rest air Head Pillow? Nothing really. I've used it so that makes it special for me I suppose. It's a solid product that works great for my needs. Packs very small, and it has baffled air chambers for stability and so you can adjust the firmness easily. Personally I very much like the soft foam feel of the pillow. I've tried a few other travel pillows that have a more synthetic and artificial feel to them and I have to say that is probably where the difference really is for me on this pillow versus others. I am fairly sensitive to the feel of a given material, so this was a big plus for me. Dimensions are 12" x 17.5" x 4" and it only weighs 5.2oz. This is a product that is made in the USA.

I really don't have too much else to say about this pillow. This is certainly one of my shorter reviews. In the end, this gets the job done and when you're done with it...it packs down into the size of a grapefruit or so. I will say that I realize that this isn't even close to the cheapest camping pillow on the market, but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for, and this instance it's worth paying up a little bit.
