Sportsman Pocket Chainsaw 36 Inches Long With Front Snap Carrying Case

My friends thought I was crazy. Hell, even I thought I might have been crazy. This group of friends I have are the type of guys that would rather cut down a tree with an ax than a chainsaw just so they could tell people they didn't use a power tool on it. So when I showed up a couple years ago with this manual pocket chainsaw, they had some good laughs at my expense. However over the course of the next four days, this little gadget had won them over. Why you might ask? Because it's phenomenal for the price and it'll get through a 16" trunk in about 3 minutes if you have the stamina. As you might be able to see from the picture, what this is, is a chainsaw that has a couple straps on each end. You prop a log up on something, then push down with your leg and cycle your arms back and forth. Simple.

There is no need for those silly wire saws that break and don't cut all that well anyway. Hell, you can sharpen this thing just like you would any other chainsaw blade. I've even known a couple people that use this thing pretty often to cut large roots when clearing voluntary trees from their land. This saw in my opinion is really well made in comparison to others on the market and is made up high strength heat treated steel. Many others on the market also in my opinion have too many teeth for the length. When working this product, you want long clean strokes and with too many teeth, the cut wood will build up between the blades, and you'll get binding and a rougher cut.

So even if your not camping and just a homeowner, this is a tool to think about for clearing trees or branches in your yard. But given that this is a website devoted to camping cots and camping in general, I've got to say that this is one of the most handy tools I own. For the price and weight, it's fantastic for backpacking. Sometimes you want a few larger limbs for the fire, and I think this gives you the ability for that with minimal effort. I always camp with an ax, but now I also carry this guy. I think you'll feel the same.
